For this episode, I had the chance to sit down with Steve Mintz, an award-winning teacher, author, and professor of history at the University of Texas at Austin. Calling upon Steve’s experiences in and outside of the classroom as a scholar, educator, and administrator, we dove into several pressing topics, including the value of the humanities, the meaning of critical thinking, artificial intelligence and education, and the very future of the university. At the end of our conversation, Steve kindly shared some resources that promise to transform the way listeners think.
Our next guest will be Carlo Rotella, a professor at Boston College and the author of What Can I Get Out of This? Teaching and Learning in a Classroom Full of Skeptics (2025).
Stay tuned and happy listening!
